Make a Grand Entrance
Begin your Clark Hall experience with a private design consultation at our Raleigh studio. From the first sketch to final installation, our team delivers a seamless, white-glove process that transforms your vision into an architectural statement of beauty and intent.
Every detail — from proportion and finish to glass and hardware — is guided by craftsmanship, precision, and the belief that your door should reflect the architecture of your home and the story of those who live within it.
At Clark Hall Doors & Windows, every door is more than an entry — it’s a symbol of artistry, strength, and presence. For over twenty years, we’ve served Raleigh’s most distinguished homes with bespoke iron and steel doors that embody craftsmanship without compromise.
Our seven-step, automotive-grade finish is engineered to endure — maintaining its luster long after wood fades and fiberglass weathers.
Fully insulated frames, doors, and glass provide superior efficiency, ensuring every detail feels as intentional as it looks.
Each door is forged from 14-gauge tubular steel, offering peace of mind and resilience that lesser materials can’t match.
Proudly rooted in the Triangle, Clark Hall has been Raleigh’s trusted partner for luxury custom doors — offering complete service from concept through precision installation.
From grand arched entries and timeless double doors to modern pivots with FritsJurgens hinges, every piece is made to order and proportioned to the region’s most exceptional estates.
Our designs transcend standard dimensions — celebrating scale, symmetry, and the artistry that defines the Triangle’s luxury architecture.

| Iron Doors | Feature | Wood Doors |
|---|---|---|
| ✔️ Structurally strong at any size — ideal for grand entries, arches, and transoms. Built to last. | Strength & Durability | ✖️ Porous and prone to warping, cracking, and splitting when exposed to the elements. |
| ✔️ Timeless, long-lasting luxury material. Enhances curb appeal and property value. | Curb Appeal | ✖️ Initially attractive, but finishes fade and weather unevenly over time. Shorter lifespan. |
| ✔️ Highly versatile for custom designs — from slim modern lines to intricate scrollwork. | Customization & Design | ✖️ Customization is limited due to warping risks. Slim profiles and fine details are harder to achieve. |
| ✔️ Higher upfront investment, but minimal upkeep and strong long-term ROI. | Cost | ✖️ Lower initial cost, but shorter lifespan and ongoing maintenance increase total expense. |
| ✔️ Heavy-duty and impact-resistant. Provides superior protection against forced entry. | Security | ✖️ Softer and more vulnerable to impact. Even with reinforcements, it’s less secure than iron. |
| ✔️ Easy to maintain. Occasional gentle cleaning keeps the finish pristine for decades. | Maintenance | ✖️ Requires regular refinishing. Sun and moisture accelerate wear and fading. |
| ✔️ Sleek, refined, and enduring. Complements modern, transitional, and classical homes. | Aesthetics | ✖️ Warm and traditional, but the appearance fades over time. Best suited for classic styles. |

Each door is made to order — fully customizable in single, double, or sidelight configurations — and handcrafted to reflect the architecture and personality of your home.
Raleigh’s luxury homes are defined by architectural diversity and timeless craftsmanship — from modernist glass façades in North Hills to classic estates Inside the Beltline (ITB) in Country Club Hills, Hayes Barton, and The Barony, to expansive new builds in Avalaire, Southern Hills Estates, and Bay Leaf Farm.
At Clark Hall Doors & Windows, we create custom steel and iron doors that reflect this design richness — crafted to complement each home’s character, scale, and setting.
As a member of the Home Builders Association of Raleigh–Wake County (HBA), a founding partner in Best of Raleigh, and a collaborator with USModernist, Clark Hall stands at the intersection of craftsmanship, architecture, and community.
These homes draw on classic Craftsman elements—like gabled roofs, wide porches, and tapered columns—but pair them with cleaner lines and neutral palettes for a more modern, versatile feel.
Recommended Door: A modern steel door with divided lite glass panes fits beautifully here. Clark Hall’s minimal grille patterns echo the home’s understated elegance while offering durability and light.
An upscale evolution of the rustic farmhouse, these homes usually feature board-and-batten siding, black window frames, and open-concept interiors. They’re especially popular in new Raleigh developments post-2010.
Recommended Door: A double door with vertical steel panels and full-view glass adds a striking, modern edge to the familiar farmhouse look. Consider matte finishes with optional side lights for added drama.
Sleek and minimalist, these homes are growing in popularity with Raleigh’s tech-savvy buyers. Expect flat or shed roofs, expansive glass, open floorplans, and minimalist landscaping.
Recommended Door: A pivot iron door with large, uninterrupted glass panels is perfect for this look. Clark Hall’s modern collection offers clean profiles that enhance the architecture’s simplicity.
A modern take on Colonial Revival homes, these feature symmetrical facades, dormer windows, and brick or fiber cement siding, often updated with modern interiors and energy-efficient elements.
Recommended Door: A wrought iron door with ornate scrollwork and textured glass honors the home’s traditional structure while giving it a fresh, upscale edge.
In total, the process takes about 16-20 weeks to complete. First, schedule a consultation at our Raleigh design studio to meet our door and window supplier experts and discuss the project in more detail. Next, receive a quote and review a detailed CAD drawing of your custom iron door. Once approved, we’ll send the CAD drawing to our artisans who will take the piece through the fabrication process, our team will come to your home to install the finish product.
Homeowners and clients who live in Raleigh’s historic neighborhoods and quaint suburbs often choose to complement a home’s unique architectural elements when designing a custom metal door. For example, a designer accented her charming two-story Colonial home with a set of traditional doors that boast some added flair — handcrafted grand pull handles that are inspired by the streets of Paris. Additionally, other clients in the area elevate their classic brick homes with something a bit more modern. This contemporary Carolina cottage features a modern double door with interesting design elements like Flemish glass and a Burnt Copper finish.
Yes. Each element of our iron doors is crafted by experts and artisans who take the door through an extensive detailing process. During this stage, each metal door also goes through a 7-step automotive finishing process which includes two steps of primers and rust inhibitors, four steps of an automotive flat black, and one step of hand-done, faux finish to provide dimension.
On average, clients in Raleigh who want a Clark Hall double entry door that involves design, custom drawings, hardware, and installation should expect the project to start at around $10,000. We also offer the longest warranty in the industry, protecting against three key areas including 10 years on the iron door structure and mechanics, 5 years on the glass, and 1 year on the weather stripping and sweeps on doors sold in the U.S.
We encourage local clients to visit our Raleigh, NC showroom so that you can see and experience our custom doors up close. But, we also offer consultations by phone where we’re happy to discuss project details and answer any questions.
